The dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol are well-known. The incident happened late at night on a day in August. According to reports, police say that a 19-year-old male driver was traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver allegedly steered to the right, causing the vehicle to climb a steep embankment. The vehicle then returned to the roadway where it struck a center divider.
Two passengers in the back seat, a 20-year-old and a 21-year-old, were ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver suffered major injuries while the front seat passenger suffered minor injuries. Police say that another car became involved when it struck one of the ejected victims. The driver of the first vehicle has since been arrested, suspected of driving under the influence.
