Man suffers major injuries in California motorcycle accident

SERVING TEMECULA AND THE SAN DIEGO METRO

While all motorists and other users of California roadways face a certain degree of risk, motorcyclists often face additional risk of injury if involved in an accident due to the relative lack of protection provided by a motorcycle. Because of their smaller size, they also may be more difficult to see, making it necessary for all drivers to remain vigilant. Unfortunately, a man was recently seriously injured in a recent motorcycle accident.

The accident happened just before 7 p.m. on a day in mid-December. According to reports, a 35-year-old woman attempted a U-turn, turning into the path of the motorcyclist. As a result of the major injuries he suffered in the collision, he was taken to the hospital.

The man’s current condition is unclear. In addition to the motorcyclist, two children, ages 10 and 3, and the driver of the pickup truck were also taken to the hospital. Reports describe their injuries as minor.

While law enforcement officials often work hard to ensure that negligent drivers in California are held accountable for their actions, criminal charges often do little to help individuals and families who are struggling with the financial ramifications of a motorcycle accident. Often, the combination of medical expenses and lost wages create a toll with which many people are unable to cope. As a result, they choose to file a personal injury lawsuit against those believed to have been responsible for their injuries. If claims of negligence are successfully presented, victims and their families could receive a financial award that will cover many of the bills and other financial complications that follow such an incident.
