Car accidents: 1 killed, 2 injured in California crash

SERVING TEMECULA AND THE SAN DIEGO METRO

Many drivers in California are concerned about safety. As such, they strive to obey all traffic laws and regulations. Unfortunately, even the safest drivers are sometimes unable to avoid car accidents caused by the negligence of others. In fact, one person has lost his life and two others were seriously injured in a recent head-on collision.

Police claim that received calls about the accident that occurred on a day in early May at approximately 8:40 p.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 21-year-old man was headed north when his vehicle entered oncoming traffic. Unfortunately, he apparently struck a southbound vehicle head on.

A 63-year-old passenger in the first vehicle passed away as a result of injuries suffered in collision. His identity was not released in the immediate aftermath of the crash. Both the 40-year-old woman driving the southbound vehicle as well as the other driver suffered major injuries in the crash. The young driver now faces criminal charges as a result, including vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and felony DUI.

Anyone who has needed to be treated at a hospital is likely aware that even minor medical interventions can generate stacks of medical bills. When victims of car accidents are injured and unable to work, their financial situation can quickly become precarious. As such, many in California choose to file a personal injury lawsuit against the parties deemed responsible for the accident. If their case is successfully presented, they could receive a financial award that will ensure that they are able to focus on their overall recovery.
