There are drivers in California who take risks that put their lives — as well as those they may encounter — in danger. Unfortunately, even the safest of drivers are not always able to avoid the actions of the former. In fact, police are investigating a fatal accident that recently took the life of a driver.
The incident reportedly happened just after 11 a.m. on a day in late August. According to reports, a sedan was stopped at a red light. The vehicle was reportedly at a red light in a left turn lane as he waited to turn into a shopping center.
Unfortunately, the vehicle was struck in the rear by a second vehicle. The force of the impact is said to have pushed the sedan into the intersection where it collided with another vehicle. Though the driver of the sedan was transported to the hospital, he was pronounced dead soon after. The driver of the second vehicle was also transported to the hospital but the extent of injuries suffered is unclear. The occupants of the third vehicle were not injured.
The fatal accident remains under investigation and police are asking anyone with information to contact them. In the meantime, a family is now left to come to terms with the unexpected, likely preventable death of their loved one. Many families who lose a loved one in such a manner also suffer financially due to funeral expenses and lost wages. As a result, some in California opt to seek recompense by filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the party or parties deemed responsible.
