Drivers in California and across the country must be aware of the conditions around them and make appropriate alterations to their driving, such as when on a connector ramp. A lack of awareness could ultimately have serious consequences. Police are still investigating a car accident in which two people were recently seriously injured in California.
The incident happened just before 5:30 a.m. on a day in mid-February. Police say that a 33-year-old man was driving a sedan on a California interstate when he entered the connector ramp for another interstate. Unfortunately, he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. It is unclear what caused him to lose control. The vehicle came to a stop in the northbound lanes of I-15.
When rescue workers arrived at the scene, one of the vehicle’s occupants required extrication. Both the male driver and his 34-year-old female passenger suffered serious injuries in the accident and were transported to the hospital. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
While the physical ramifications of a car accident such as this are often obvious, the financial implications may be less clear. Unfortunately, medical expenses in combination with lost wages can quickly become overwhelming. For those injured as a result of another person’s negligence, there is an option of filing a personal injury lawsuit in civil court. An attorney with experience with such cases can help victims in California fully understand what such action entails and determine whether doing so is appropriate for each individual circumstance.
