1 killed, 2 injured in California: car accidents

SERVING TEMECULA AND THE SAN DIEGO METRO

Most people think little of relatively minor traffic infractions. However, something as simple as drifting out of a lane can result in serious car accidents. Unfortunately, a recent collision in California illustrates the potential harm even a slight miscalculation can cause.

The accident happened one morning on a day in July. According to reports, police were called to the scene of an accident just after 10 a.m. An investigation is said to have revealed that a van veered to the left of its lane, ultimately leaving the lane. The van reportedly struck a sedan.

Unfortunately, the sedan reportedly flipped, and the front passenger — whose identity has yet to be released — was partially ejected. He passed away as a result of injuries suffered in the accident. While the driver of the van was uninjured, the driver and a second passenger in the sedan were hurt. Reports indicate that their injuries were not life-threatening.

When driving, it is easy to become complacent. However, a single moment of inattention can cause car accidents that will have serious ramifications for all involved. Unfortunately, a family in California is now left mourning the unexpected loss of their family member. For many, a loss such as this causes more than emotional harm; families are often unprepared for the financial toll of a loved one’s death. While it will likely do little to ease their grief, a civil lawsuit — if successfully presented — could result in a financial award that will help surviving family members cope with the unexpected financial burdens created by another person’s negligence.
