Police: Speed a factor in California car accident that injured 8

SERVING TEMECULA AND THE SAN DIEGO METRO

For many people, an afternoon meal on a weekend is a time of relaxation as people gear up for the next week and unwind from the last. Unfortunately, a meal out at a Thai restaurant turned into a nightmare in California. Police say that a car accident sent two vehicles crashing into the restaurant.

The incident happened at approximately 3 p.m. on a day in September. According to the fire department, two cars collided in an intersection. The impact then sent the vehicles crashing into a corner restaurant that had only recently reopened following damage done by another accident.

Reports indicate that eight people were injured in the crash, with two people suffering moderate injuries and one person declining treatment. Three of the victims were inside the restaurant. Four were in one of the vehicles, and one more was in the other. While details regarding the cause of the accident are unclear, law enforcement officials believe that speed was a factor.

Anyone who has sought hospital treatment likely knows of the expense associated with doing so, even for relatively minor injuries. Unfortunately, injuries suffered in a car accident can require treatment that can quickly lead to medical bills that may be difficult to overcome. As such, those injured as a result of another’s negligence — such as a driver who is speeding — may choose to file a personal injury lawsuit against the party deemed responsible. If successfully presented, California victims can receive a monetary award that will ensure that they are able to meet their financial responsibilities as they recover.
